Yesterday was a very sad day...one of our kitties crossed over the rainbow bridge. Stinky was diagnosed with diabetes back in May. He was a pretty sick kitty then, but was really getting better. He had gained weight and was climbing and playing with us and the other kitties...really back to his old self. And he was really good about having the insulin injections twice a day. But Sunday night after we were in bed he let out this awful cry...we thought he had had a stroke. He couldn't close his eyes or mouth and he was just so limp. We didn't think he'd make it through the night, but he did. He was on IVs for most of yesterday, but nothing helped. The vet did an autopsy because he couldn't understand what had happened. It turns out that Stinky had lots of little blood clots and they were shooting out allove his body...to the brain and elsewhere. The vet said he didn't have a chance once that started...and that we couldn't have done anything differently to help him. It was very sad and hard to let him go. My daughter brought him home when he was just born and actually hid him in her closet for awhile...he was nearly ten years old. I think I will stitch the Britty Kitty ornie from last year in his memory.
On the stitching front, I did finish an ornie last week..."Merry Yule" from last year's JCS issue. Well, the stitching is finished anyway!
I'm also working on the seasonal birds from Heart in Hand. I was hoping to be finished by today, but ended up having to frog out one whole border section...and then I haven't stitched at all since Sunday night. I've got 2 done though. I'm doing them all on one long piece of fabric to make into a bellpull.
